I am sure that shorter shell commands and switches were helpful for
*anybody* typing on a clunky, electro-mechanical Teletype (former
TM). They were for me, even though I had learned some typing in
school on mechanical typewriters.<br>
<br>
For the counter-example, I wonder if anyone ever tried to type very
much (verbose) DCL on VAX/VMS using a Teletype. :-)<br>
