HELP! DH driver hangs..

 After an effort at posting once that (I think) ended in defeat I try again.

 We have an EMULEX CS11/H (DH11/DM11 compatible communications multiplexer)
on an 11/44. Recently put up 2.9bsd. Though under 2.8 the DH's worked
fine they are now hanging. The load does not matter nor whether anybody
has used a DH connected terminal as it does this on boot. It only happens
when DH_SILO is defined (which we would very much like to have). The driver
is a hacked version of 4bsd's but none of our VAXen have DH's so I cannot
verify the code, though I have seen no bug reports on the net about 4bsd.
A short list of pertinent info:

		UCB_CLIST is defined as well as UNIBUS_MAP

		A pstat revealed that the processes were
		 ASLEEP and BUSY. The output queue and the raw queue
		 both have characters in them. The lines are open
		 and have carrier present. The mode is always 010740.

		The network bug fix for the definition of cfree has been
		 applied.

I have poured through the 2.6, 2.8, and 4.1 drivers and have only landed
in the pits of depression. If you have any suggestions/hints please
mail them to me.
