Once more with feeling (before the flames arise). /lib/ccom -Xr is the invocation. It expects something on stdin. Two <^d>'s (that ctrl-d) is fine. After that, the release string should be printed on stderr. Sorry for the runaround, folks--next time I'll try to engage brain first.
