Ga. Tech's "se" editor: Bus in the "s" command

I got the Georgia Tech "se" editor up and running, BUT the substitute
command seems to bomb out. Whenever I try and use it, it reports:
"No more room for any lines" and deletes the line I am trying to do a
substitute on. Any help or fixes for this?
Info to make your life easy: I am running a SYSIII machine using
the termcap and using the NEW option of se to decide what order the
lines should be in the buffer.
Sorry if this fix is already been posted but I just got back on the
net after a short absence. Please reply by mail. If this has not been
addressed before, I will summerise to the net.
