emacs keymapping

Thanks to everyone who replied to my plea for help! (I had at least 10
responses in my mailbox this morning) by way of a quick summary for
anyone else who was interested, there seems to be two basic solutions,
one involves doing things the way I was trying to do them with
the (define-key global-map . . .) in the ~/.emacs file. The other way
which seems to work better for me, in that I go back and forth between
xterm windows and wsh windows a fair amount, involves creating
a ..../term/iris-ansi.el (only the iris part of the filename is significant)
file which is similar to the vt100.el file.
Again, thanks for the quick response, and I would be happy to forward more
specifics to anyone else interested.
Brad
