Hello
We have installed Power Station 530 (AIX 3.1) in our laboratory and
now we have encountered a problem of xterm.
In creating a xterm from Power Station (client) to a VAX Station 3100
[VAX/VMS V5.3-1 + DECwindow (X11R3 compliance) + CMU-TEK TCP/IP transport],
xterm command terminates with following errors at the client:
$ xterm -display rikvs1:0
aixterm: BadValue, integer parameter out of range for operation
Request code 1, minor code 0, serial #70, resource id -2
IOT/Abort trap
$
so xterm cannot be created on the VAX Station, while Xclock can be
created successfully from Power Station (client) to the VAX Station
(server). Also DECterm can be created from VAX Station (client) to
Power Station (server).
Xterm works successfully between Power Station and Sparc Station
(SUN OS 4.0.3C + X11R4) in both direction and also xterm (DECterm)
works successfully between VAX Station and Sparc Station in both
direction. The only problem of the xterm is the combination of Power
Station as client and VAX Station as server.
Any suggestions and comments are appreciated.
