Memory upgrades to R/6000s

No third party memory boards are available, but some people have
reported success in this group of upgrading the 8MB IBM memory cards
by replacing the SIMMs with third party 2MB/4MB SIMMs (16/32MB card
capacity) designed for the RISC System/6000 memory cards (straight
parity PC SIMMs will definitely not work, just count memory chips on
your board to figure out why). At the back of the latest PC Week
magazine is an ad by Sigma Data (800-446-4525) claiming to have such
SIMMs in stock....

This is not an endorsement in anyway and I have had no dealings with
SD other than happening upon their ad in PC Week.
