Ghost file

And another way, which will find out the full name it is uder is to do a

od -cb .

It will run threw and show the ascii and binary code of the directory.  If
yours is set up like my the first two chaaracters are the inode number
and the rest (asumming 14 more) on that line is the name.  You should see
there if there is any extra characters that ls would not print out.
Then you could use rm to remove it while you add that non-graphic character.
