Not that I am advocating this, mind you, but....

Write mutatable viri that compete.  Make them such that they run REAL
low priority, and turn 'em loose!  Evolution in action! 

What an experiment!  Competition, mutation, "species" formation,...
Corewars worldwide!  Just sample the "universe" every few days
(appox every millinium).
