REWIND(1) UNIX Programmer's Manual REWIND(1)

NAME
     rewind - rewind tape drive

SYNOPSIS
     rewind [ tape ]

DESCRIPTION
_R_e_w_i_n_d rewinds the tape drive, if a tape is mounted on it.
This is done by opening and closing the tape drive, using a
file name that will rewind when the file is closed. If an
argument is given that is taken as the name of the tape
drive rather than the default /dev/mt0.
