YPCAT(1) UNIX Programmer's Manual YPCAT(1) NAME ypcat - print values in a YP data base SYNOPSIS ypcat [ -k ] [ -t ] [ -d _d_o_m_a_i_n_n_a_m_e ] _m_n_a_m_e ypcat -x DESCRIPTION _y_p_c_a_t prints out values in a yellow pages (YP) map specified by _m_n_a_m_e, which may be either a _m_a_p_n_a_m_e or a map _n_i_c_k_n_a_m_e. Since _y_p_c_a_t uses the YP network services, no YP server is specified. To look at the network-wide password database, _p_a_s_s_w_d._b_y_n_a_m_e, (with the nickname _p_a_s_s_w_d). type in: ypcat passwd Refer to ypfiles(5) and ypserv(8) for an overview of the yellow pages. OPTIONS -k Display the keys for those maps in which the values are null or the key is not part of the value. (None of the maps derived from files that have an ASCII version in /_e_t_c fall into this class.) -t Inhibit translation of _m_n_a_m_e to _m_a_p_n_a_m_e. For example, _y_p_c_a_t -_t _p_a_s_s_w_d will fail because there is no map named _p_a_s_s_w_d, whereas _y_p_c_a_t _p_a_s_s_w_d will be translated to _y_p_c_a_t _p_a_s_s_w_d._b_y_n_a_m_e. -d Specify a domain other that the default domain. The default domain is returned by _d_o_m_a_i_n_n_a_m_e. -x Display the map nickname table. This lists the nick- names (_m_n_a_m_e_s) the command knows of, and indicates the _m_a_p_n_a_m_e associated with each nickname.
