SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS
     llooggggeerr [--iiss] [--ff _f_i_l_e] [--pp _p_r_i] [--tt _t_a_g] [_m_e_s_s_a_g_e _._._.]

DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN
     LLooggggeerr provides a shell command interface to the syslog(3) system log
     module.

     Options:

     --ii       Log the process id of the logger process with each line.

     --ss       Log the message to standard error, as well as the system log.

     --ff _f_i_l_e  Log the specified file.

     --pp _p_r_i   Enter the message with the specified priority.  The priority may
              be specified numerically or as a ``facility.level'' pair.  For
              example, ``-p local3.info'' logs the message(s) as _i_n_f_ormational
              level in the _l_o_c_a_l_3 facility.  The default is ``user.notice.''

     --tt _t_a_g   Mark every line in the log with the specified _t_a_g.

     _m_e_s_s_a_g_e  Write the message to log; if not specified, and the --ff flag is
              not provided, standard input is logged.

     The llooggggeerr utility exits 0 on success, and >0 if an error occurs.
