SENDBUG(1) BSD Reference Manual SENDBUG(1) NNAAMMEE sseennddbbuugg - mail a system bug report to 4bsd-bugs SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS sseennddbbuugg [_a_d_d_r_e_s_s] DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN Bug reports sent to `4bsd-bugs@Berkeley.EDU' are intercepted by a program which expects bug reports to conform to a standard format. SSeennddbbuugg is a shell script to help the user compose and mail bug reports in the correct format. SSeennddbbuugg works by invoking the editor specified by the environ- ment variable EDITOR on a temporary copy of the bug report format out- line. The user must fill in the appropriate fields and exit the editor. SSeennddbbuugg then mails the completed report to `4bsd-bugs@Berkeley.EDU' or the _a_d_d_r_e_s_s specified on the command line. EENNVVIIRROONNMMEENNTT SSeennddbbuugg will utilize the following environment variable if it exists: EDITOR Specifies the preferred editor. If EDITOR is not set, sseennddbbuugg de- faults to vi(1).
