ACOS(3) BSD Programmer's Manual ACOS(3) NNAAMMEE aaccooss - arc cosine function SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS ##iinncclluuddee <<mmaatthh..hh>> _d_o_u_b_l_e aaccooss(_d_o_u_b_l_e _x); DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN The aaccooss() function computes the principal value of the arc cosine of _x. A domain error occurs for arguments not in the range [-1, +1]. For a discussion of error due to roundoff, see math(3). RREETTUURRNN VVAALLUUEESS The aaccooss() function returns the arc cosine in the range [0, pi] radians. On the VAX and Tahoe, if: |_x| > 1, aaccooss(_x) sets the global variable _e_r_r_n_o to EDOM and a reserved operand fault is generated.
