This directory contains the C overlay loader and some other junk. Covld is derived from Bill Joy's covld but several things (such as the format of thunks) have been changed and many bugs have been fixed. The paper in ovpap.n describes the original Berkeley overlayed text scheme which was intended for use in user mode programs. I use overlays only for the kernel itself. The paper is good for background, but many of the details are wrong.
