.SH NAME

.SH SYNOPSIS
.B /usr/inet/bin/ropy

.br
.B /usr/inet/bin/ropy
[
.B \-r
] file ... directory
.SH DESCRIPTION
.I Ropy
copies files between machines over an
.SM ARPA
internet connection.
Each non-option
argument is either a remote file name of the
form `rhost:path', or a local path name.
In the first form
.I ropy
copies
.I file1
to
.I file2.
In the second form it copies one or more
.I files
into the named
.I directory
with their original file-names.
.PP
Option
.B \-r
causes
.I ropy
to copy the contents of any named directory recursively;
the destination must be a directory.
.PP
If
.I path
is not a full path name, it is interpreted relative to
your login directory on the remote machine.
.PP
.I Ropy
requires
.IR rsh
capability;
see
.IR dcon (1).
.SH FILES
/usr/inet/lib/*
.br
$HOME/.rhosts
.SH SEE ALSO
push(1),
cp(1),
dcon(1),
netstat(8)
.SH BUGS
.I Ropy
works by remotely executing the command
.I rcp
(sic);
hence your
.I .profile
on the remote machine
must arrange for the command
.I rcp
to invoke
.IR /usr/inet/bin/rcp ,
not
.IR /usr/bin/rcp .
