I know zip all about PDP-11 FP, but I know that when I was getting my
Apout V7 simulator working (which doesn't do FP, by the way), I had to
at least emulate setd, because crt0 in V7 starts with:

start:
        setd
        mov     2(sp),r0
        clr     -2(r0)
