Sure there are!

Depending on how you look at things and if you have the file systems to 
do it....

The venerable trick of temporarily moving everything to another file 
system, thereby vacating the source file system as much as possible, 
before moving files back.  }:-)

Is it pretty?  No.
Is it fast?  No.
Does it work?  It's better than nothing.
