Larry, I'll bite. Tell us about HP-UX :)

My observations.. Up til 9.x it was a BSD-alike. In 10 and especially
11 it became much more SysV-alike. VUE desktop was nice for the time,
CDE took on its visual style. 11.x becomes bloated like later Solaris
releases. Technology transfer is hard.

There are some nice internals docs:
6: https://bitsavers.org/pdf/hp/9000_hpux/training/SE390_Series_300_HP-UX_Internals_1988.pdf
9: https://bitsavers.org/pdf/hp/9000_hpux/training/SE390_Series_300_HP-UX_Internals_Apr93.pdf
11i: https://www.filibeto.org/unix/hp-ux/lib/kernel/inside-hp-ux-os.pdf
11i: ISBN 0130328618 hp-ux 11i internals book (the above doc is a lot
more in depth)

I wonder if we should collect resources like this on a wiki page or
something? I really like this inside the factory stuff.

Regards,
Kevin
