A couple years ago I wrote an NES emulator: https://github.com/kenballus/nespump
The NES's CPU is basically a 6502 with a few extra things and no BCD
mode. Emulating the CPU was the fun part. The graphics part was not as
fun :(
Game Boy is also pretty fun to emulate. The CPU is a pared-down Z80,
more or less.
Here's the Game Boy emulator I wrote last year: https://github.com/kenballus/gb
Again, the CPU was mostly pretty fun (except the DAA instruction...),
but the graphics were annoying. Maybe this is a pattern.
I'd be happy to take any questions about 6502 emulation off-list if
you have any.
