I am not sure how much AT&T V differs from either ISC and ESIX rev. D. If you
use AT&T UNIX SysV/386, (I hate to say this) you are venturing out to the
unknown more or less, presuming you are using binaries downloaded from
somewhere. These archived binaries have been built *specifically* with
both ISC (2.02 or later) and ESIX V rev. D in mind. I know for a fact that
if you use them on SCO boxes they will cause kernel panic!! As to AT&T SVR
3.2.1, Hmmm... I don't know anyone who has done a porting job yet.

I debated with myself with the mtune restriction for about one day, but
finally said to heck with it and I edited mtune in /etc/conf/cf.d, changed
the max of SHLBMAX to 8 (YES! no typo here) and then ran Thomas' install.sh
wich invoked /etc/bin/idtune and raised SHLBMAX to 8 too. So far so good.

I also know a few other ESIX users who have raised SHLBMAX to 8 without any
adverse effect.

So I suspect that in your case, you can raise SHLBMAX to 8 as well.

I didn't encounter any error messages that you got however.
