On my (obsolete) FreeBSD box:

     aneurin% man bash | wc -l
 	5947

Now there's a manpage that should have been split up...

On the same box:

     aneurin% man zsh | wc -l
 	 346

That's because it's got sub-pages, each describing a particular feature
(I've been using ZSH for years).
