Agreed! nvi `u` undo/redo with the `.` repeat cmd is what nvi got very right and vim got
wrong by comparison IMO. That feature alone had me preferring nvi forever (they both
supported split windows :)
I eventually gave up and just started using vim though b/c it was installed by default on
Linux systems, which is what the vast majority of customers/companies want to use now.

P.S. Actually I had a soft spot in my heart for vim even when I preferred nvi b/c there
was a native Amiga OS version, but that’s a topic for some other mailing list. :)
