[TUHS] Bootstrapping UNIX - how was it done

I never learned vi.   I went from ed, via a short hop with INed (or as 
we called it, the Bland editor), to EMACS.
If there’s no EMACS, I limp along with ed until I get something ported 
over.   If I’m forced to use VI, I just run it in “ex” mode.
My employees were always amazed how fast I could edit things with just 
plain ed.   You learned regular expressions out of necessity.
